Maia concentrates her practice in the areas of commercial real estate transactions, commercial leasing and secured transactions, and is a member of the mergers and acquisitions team. She has experience drafting and negotiating purchase and sale documents, leases, and financing documents, and takes a practical and goal-oriented approach to resolving complex issues related to the acquisition, development, financing, leasing and sale of real estate. She also frequently consults with attorneys in other practice areas of the firm, providing her assistance in document preparation and experience in addressing a wide range of real property issues.

Maia is admitted to The Florida Bar, The Kansas Bar, and is also admitted to practice in federal court before the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, and the Southern District of Florida.

She earned her J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from Washburn University School of Law. She holds a B.A. degree, with distinction, from the University of Kansas.
