Tax attorney Waheeda Ghani knows the IRS from the inside out, previously serving as a General Tax Attorney for the Office of Chief Counsel to the Internal Revenue Service.  This insider perspective helps her tackle tough litigation tax controversy cases for clients appearing before the IRS Office of Appeals and provides deep knowledge on a wide range of substantive and procedural federal tax issues.  Additionally, her practice includes working with corporate clients in the areas of merger & acquisition transactions and assisting high-net worth clients with tax strategy and in dealing with complex tax matters in the area of corporate audits and penalty abatements.

Waheeda holds her LL.M. in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center, her J.D., from American University Washington College of Law and her B.A. in Law and Society from American University.  She is admitted to the District of Columbia Bar and the U.S. Tax Court.

Background

In her free time Waheeda enjoys going to the beach, hiking, reading, and watching thrillers.  She absolutely loves Halloween and is a devoted cat mom to Dahlia.
